2017 Youth Scholarship

Annual Youth Scholarship Awards. Sponsored by the Congress of Black Women of Canada Ajax/Pickering Chapter, is offered to Afro-Canadian Students (male or female) residing in the Ajax or Pickering area.  This $1,000.00 scholarship is awarded annually to students pursuing post-secondary education, who meet the selection criteria.  Candidates must provide evidence of Academic Achievement, Community Involvement and Financial Need.  Deadline for submission  is  May 5th, 2017.

2017 Adult Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded annually to a mature student pursuing post-secondary education.  The purpose of this scholarship is to offer financial assistance to an adult who has identified the desire to return to school to further his/her education.  One scholarship valued at $1,000.00 is available.  Eligible candidates will be mature  students who reside in the  Ajax or Pickering area, who meets the selection criteria.  Candidates must provide evidence of Academic Achievement, Community Involvement and Financial Need.  Deadline for submission is May 5th, 2017.

York University Offers a Bridging Course for Women. For more information call the School of Women Studies at 416-736-2100 ext 77818 or via email: cirvin@yorku.ca.

Course participants must be 20 years of age or over, permanent residents of Ontario, and comfortable in both spoken and written English. A grade of ‘B’ or better offers admission to mature students to the Facilities’ of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies and Glendon in addition to some programs in other faculties. The bridging course is not appropriate if you require ESL instruction. If you have completed one full year or more of university or academic college studies, you may not need a bridging course as an admissions credential.
